I finally decided on sending out a regular Christmas card and not combining it with a Save the Date. I consulted with a couple of friends if sending a photocard for Christmas then a Save the Date in late February would be overkill and they said "Nope!" They could've been politely lying to me but we have so many awesome pictures that I kinda don't care if it's overkill, lol.
